Magical Devices

As a kid, I was amazed by the pinhole camera’s magical ability to create images through a tiny hole.
This basic optical trick, which generates pictures without a lens, inspired the camera obscura. It’s common knowledge that numerous painters integrated it into their creative process.
How I’m currently exploring this concept further is a different topic altogether.
The Canon 5D mark II was replaced with a dark box to capture images of light passing through a 0.2mm hole. 
The process was repeated.

魔術的な装置

幼少の頃、私は針穴を通して画像を結ぶピンホールカメラの魔力に魅せられた。
レンズを介することなく画像を結ぶ、この原初的な光学現象はカメラ・オプスキュラという装置を生み出し、多くの画家たちが作画過程に取り込んだことは有名な話だ。
今なぜ私は針穴画像を試そうとしているかということについては、稿を改めることにする。
ここでは直径0.2mmの穴を通した光をCanon 5D merk2を暗箱に置き換え、画像化しているという説明に留めよう。
実験は再び始まった。
